Somalia govt seeks Saudi investment in fishery sector

RIYADH — Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Hassan Aden, who was on an official visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held a productive meeting with his counterpart from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Eng. Abdulrahman Abdul Mohsen AlFadley.

The two sides discussed enhancing the historical relationship between the two countries, cooperation in the development of the fisheries sector, and the potential for Saudi Arabia to make effective investments in Somalia’s blue economy, particularly in fisheries.

The Minster added that there is a dedicated effort to secure international investment that could contribute to increasing revenue and domestic production, ultimately leading Somalia toward achieving sustainable economic self-sufficiency.
