HARGEISA — At least three young men died on Saturday afternoon in a road accident on the outskirts of Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland.
The three young men, Abdisalam Osman, Faisal Muhumed, and Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, were all friends. According to residents, the accident happened after a pickup 4WD collided with a Vitz minivan.
Reports of accidents are high during Eid occasions in Somaliland, as people travel to different parts to visit family and friends.
Locals complain of drivers who are racing down streets at excessive speeds.
The Somaliland government did not comment on the accident.
