Somalia reports 245 new COVID-19 cases, 10 deaths

MOGADISHU — Somalia registered 245 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths over the past 24 hours, the country’s Health Ministry said on Monday.

The new figures bring the total number of cases in Somalia to 13,324 and fatalities to 678.

Somalia, a country of some 15 million, has been battling a second wave of COVID-19 since the beginning of this year.

Somalia last week received 200,000 doses of Chinese manufactured Sinopharm vaccines.

The country rolled out its mass inoculations on March 16.
