Somalia govt launches joint monitoring report on school feeding & nutrition programs

MOGADISHU — On Wednesday, Ministry of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development (MoPIED) of Somalia, through its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Department, launched the Joint Monitoring Report on the World Food Programme (WFP) Somalia’s 2024 school feeding, nutrition, and relief programs.

The event, held at MoPIED Headquarters, was presided over by Director-General @Moshireh, with representatives from federal and Federal Member States (FMS) ministries and WFP officials in attendance.

The event featured presentations from the Ministries of Health and Education, which highlighted key achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations for the successful implementation of these critical programs.

Director Mohamud Nur emphasized the importance of joint result monitoring as a tool for ensuring transparency and accountability in the delivery of aid and resources.

The report reflects ongoing efforts to address the nutritional security and humanitarian needs of vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on improving school feeding programs to support the education and health of Somali children.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders, including government officials and international partners, to continue efforts to enhance nutritional security and humanitarian support across the country.
