The national celebration coincided with the graduation of a new batch of qualified midwifery professionals from the Ministry of Health’s Institute, as SONNA quoted government sources stating that these national hands will provide a new boost to the country’s efforts in delivering superior medical care across various regions.

The occasion was attended by senior federal government officials, representatives of the medical association, and heads of public and private hospitals, as well as international partners, as detailed in the comprehensive coverage by the Somali National News Agency during the event.

The Ministry explained that this celebration embodies the prestigious status midwives hold within the fabric of Somali society and reflects the firm government commitment to developing their capabilities and providing a supportive environment as the backbone of maternal and child care services throughout the nation.

The meeting addressed the importance of investing in the training and qualification of midwives as a strategic choice to advance the medical sector, as these competencies contribute directly to reducing mortality rates and improving the quality of health life according to the latest international standards in primary care.
