Heavy rains floods Beledweyne neighborhoods

BALADWEYNE — News coming from the city of Beledweyne, the capital of Hiran region, yesterday reported heavy rainfall that affected residents of neighborhoods within the city.

Many families in the neighborhoods of Beledweyne have been displaced by the flooding caused by the heavy rainfall and the overflow of the Shabelle River, leading to concerns about the impact on the city.

Yesterday, many areas along the Tiimbo riverbank in Beledweyne were inundated after the Dhagax Jibis canal overflowed, resulting in flooding in the neighborhoods of Beledweyne.

However, the spring rains have started in some parts of the country, which is feared to cause floods as rivers in the regions are most prone to floods.

Recently, a warning message was issued by the Somali Disaster Management Agency, cautioning against the potential dangers posed by floods and urging residents in vulnerable areas to take precautionary measures.
