Somalia and aid agencies discuss for emergency COVID-19 protection

MOGADISHU — Somali Ministry of Health has called an urgent meeting for foreign ambassadors and aid agencies on late Sunday afternoon. The meeting discussed serious issues including Coronavirus, travel, and protection of the dangerous Coronavirus infection spread that has Globally affected.

Somali Minister of Health, Fowziya Abikar Nur reported on the National Coronavirus Protection and Prevention Plan, adding that preparations for quarantine of infected persons from affected countries are being prepared and finalized.

Drs; Wednesday has called for reducing meetings and trips to go abroad in order to avoid the risk of Coronavirus infection and widely spread.

This move comes after the first cases found in Somalia neighboring countries search as Kenya and Ethiopia leading travel ban and health crises in East Africa.

Donors and ambassadors who attended the meeting said they would work with Somalia to prevent coronavirus deaths which already have killed more than 3,000 people globally.
