BELEDWEYNE (SOHA) – Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mahdi Mohamed Guled together with Turkish and Qatar Ambassadors to Somalia on Sunday visited Beledweyne town in Hiiraan region that hit worst floods in history, SONNA reported.
Hirshabelle State President, Mohamed Abdi Ware welcomed the delegation from the Federal Government of Somalia and brotherly states from Turkey and Qatar charity organizations whose visit was to provide emergency assistance to over 630’000 People that fled from floods there.
Government’s Head of Commission for the floods, Mr. Mahddi said that they handed over One Million U.S dollar to Hirshabelle President, Ware to handle the aftermath of the floods.
The Charity agencies from Turkey and Qatar distributed aid supply to IDPs there during the visit of the delegation.
” We thank our brothers of Turkey and Qatar who are supporting these people affected by the disaster of floods, the Federal Government is taking its role and paid One Million to this and Federal Members states will also take part in helping these people”, Mr. Guled said.
Mr. Ware thanked Federal Government, Turkey and Qatar States’ support to people in the region, saying the assistance arrived at very significant time.
