Over 41,000 students sit for grade 8 exams in Banadir

MOGADISHU –– The Banadir Regional Directorate of Education has announced that more than 41,000 students officially began sitting for the Grade 8 national examination across all districts of the Banadir region this morning.

This marks the highest number of candidates ever recorded for this regional-level exam, reflecting significant growth and progress in the education sector within Banadir.

The total number of students sitting for the exam stands at 41,670, including 22,778 boys, 18,860 girls, and 32 students with special needs, who are receiving tailored support to ensure equitable participation.

The exams commenced simultaneously in all districts of the Banadir region under tight security, with police forces deployed to ensure safety and order throughout the process.

The official opening ceremony of the examination was presided over by regional leaders, including the Governor of Banadir and the Deputy Governor. The officials commended the ” dedication and efforts of students, teachers, and parents in preparing for this important milestone.”

The Banadir Directorate of Education reaffirmed that the examination process is “being conducted transparently and that all examination centers have been fully equipped to meet the needs of the students.”
