SoDMA sends aid to 6,000 families in Lower Shabelle

MERCA — The Somalia Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has dispatched 10 trucks loaded with food supplies to support around 6,000 families in the KM50 community and surrounding villages.

The humanitarian assistance comes at a critical time as the region remains affected by ongoing counter-terrorism operations.

SoDMA Chairman Mohamud Moalim Abdulle officially handed over the aid to the KM50 district commissioner and the Lower Shabelle Relief Coordinator, reinforcing the government’s commitment to stabilization and community resilience in conflict-affected areas.

The food distribution is part of SoDMA’s broader efforts to address urgent needs and provide relief to vulnerable populations in volatile regions.
