MOGADISHU — The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has issued warnings regarding flooding, which is expected to occur in the coming days in the country.
The organization has urged the Somali people to be vigilant and take precautionary measures, especially those living in areas recently affected by floods and coastal regions.
The current Gu’ rainfall season of the year is expected to cause significant flooding in many parts of the country, particularly during the first week of April, as stated in a statement released by SoDMA.
The heavy rainfall is expected to continue until the third or fourth week of April, and the floods will also occur until the end of May this year.
These floods are expected to affect many parts of the country, especially its southern and northern regions.
This warning comes as last year’s heavy rainfall led to widespread destruction, causing various damages including loss of life, injuries, displacement, and extensive property damage, affecting many households, with some still suffering from the consequences.
