MOGADISHU — Chairman of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), H.E. Mohamud Moallim Abdulle, co-chaired alongside H.E. George Conway, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, yesterday, Tuesday, the high-level monthly meeting reviewing the country’s critical humanitarian landscape.
The strategic meeting, detailed on SoDMA’s Official Facebook Page, brought together top leadership and technical experts from both the national agency and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to streamline and align joint relief interventions on the ground.
Discussions during the round-table session centered heavily on analyzing the latest field indicators of the humanitarian situation, alongside evaluating mechanisms to scale up aid delivery to efficiently address the urgent needs of vulnerable populations impacted by climate and economic shocks.
