MOGADISHU — The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, laid the foundation stone for the National Curriculum Development Center, in a qualitative step Somalia is taking towards upgrading the quality of education and enhancing scientific outcomes across the country, as an edifice added to her developmental achievements.
In his speech during the ceremony, His Excellency emphasized that education remains the cornerstone of national renaissance and a critical driver for building a more prosperous future, stressing that Somalia places the development of minds at the forefront of her national priorities, believing that people are the nation’s most valuable resource.
The Prime Minister explained that the Federal Government of Somalia attaches great importance to modernizing and developing the education sector as part of her comprehensive development agenda, believing that restoring Somalia’s civilizational standing begins in classrooms and robust educational institutions that keep pace with the era.
“A developed curriculum is the cornerstone of the educational process,” said H.E. Hamza Barre, “and this center will serve as an important scientific beacon for honing the knowledge of the younger generations, equipping them with the necessary tools to keep pace with the nation’s aspirations and future ambitions.”
The establishment of this center comes within Somalia’s relentless efforts to strengthen social services, particularly the education sector, serving long-term economic development goals by preparing a capable generation adaptable to rapidly changing global dynamics and seizing available opportunities.
His Excellency further indicated that the center will serve as a vital link between educational institutions and students, ensuring the alignment of learning systems with the country’s future needs and directing scientific pathways to serve national development priorities and the state’s strategic vision.
