Somali national killed in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG —  Well known Somali traders who had been live in South Africa for years was Saturday night in a raid on his shop.

According to Somali community in Est London of Eastern Cape, several assailants with guns have stormed the shop of Mohamed Ismail Kiish, prompting conflict with the owner.

The assailants killed Kiish and made away with unspecified amount of South African Rand and other valuable things.

The attackers reportedly fled after destroying CCTV cameras.

Killings of Somali businessmen are a regular occurrence in South Africa. So far, no action has been taken by the Somali and South African governments, which have repeatedly said they will address the plight of Somali citizens.
