MOGADISHU — The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has sent a message to the people of Somalia about Coronavirus (Covid-19) infections and said that the Somalia government are committed to safeguarding the country’s health.
The President noted that the infection, which has spread to many countries, has been documented by the Somali Ministry of Health, whereby one of the Somalia citizens was tested positive of the deadly disease (coronavirus), which should pay more attention to the Somali people and the government to unite and control and do preventive measures to stop the spread of the virus in the country.
“So far we have confirmed one patient in our country. The disease is at such a high risk that it has spread rapidly to many countries including our neighboring countries Ethiopia and Kenya. ”
The President called on the Somali people to adhere to health guidelines and government guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19 disease, primarily to reduce travel trips and essential gatherings.
“The community is the backbone of the government’s efforts to prevent the disease, so they should stand by and educate the public on health messages and plans to prevent the spread of Coronavirus infection in our country.”
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has instructed the Federal Government of Somalia to accelerate measures to prevent the disease and unite the people and the intelligence community and the Somali Government to overcome this difficult stage.
