LAS ANOD – Ade Adeeye area in Sool region witnessed intense armed clashes between rival local groups, resulting in the death of 20 people and the injury of 33 others, in a deadly incident that shook the region, according to local sources.
Sources said that women, children, and elderly people were among the victims, reflecting the severe humanitarian impact of the sudden and rapidly escalating clashes.
According to field accounts, the incident began after an armed attack targeted two individuals on a road leading to the Ade Adeeye area, resulting in the death of one and the injury of the other before tensions escalated further.
The sources added that the transfer of the dead and wounded to Yagoori town contributed to rising tensions, leading to large-scale clashes involving heavy use of firearms between the opposing sides.
Local residents reported damage to homes and fires in some areas, amid panic and limited displacement of civilians fleeing the fighting.
