Baidoa anticipates record-breaking agricultural season

BAIDOA —  In the bustling economic heart of Somalia’s South West State, agricultural equipment workshops in Baidoa are running day and night to meet surging demand as planting season approaches.

Farmers in the Bay region, empowered by better resources and favorable weather forecasts, are preparing for what experts predict could be an unprecedented harvest. The optimism is driven by increased access to machinery, improved agricultural inputs, and community-level support for farming initiatives.

If current momentum holds, this season’s yield could spark broad economic revival and enhance food security across the region, offering hope to a population long burdened by climate shocks and conflict.
