MOGADISHU — Residents in Mogadishu’s Dharkeenley district are shaken by a tragic incident where a man is suspected of fatally burning his pregnant wife, police said.
The victim, identified as Luul Abdiaziz, was locked in a room and set on fire, according to initial reports. Neighbours, alerted by the screams of Abdicasis and her children, found her severely burned and rushed her to a hospital in Mogadishu.
Police spokesman Sadiq Aden Ali Doodishe stated, “At about 10:25 a.m. in Dharkenley, Luul Sheikh Abdi was tragically killed in this act of violence.” He added that the primary suspect is her husband, Sayid Moalin Daoud, who fled the scene with their son. A manhunt by Dharkenley police is underway.
Residents of the Dharkenley district are left reeling from the brutality of this crime.
