ABIDJAN — The African Development Bank has approved additional funding of $76.37 million for the Road Infrastructure Programme in the Federal Republic of Somalia, a key component of the strategic Horn of Africa Corridor project.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the program aims to upgrade the land transport system and modernize road networks within Somalia, linking them with neighboring countries (Djibouti and Ethiopia) to enhance the efficiency of regional supply chains and logistics.
The Saudi Press Agency reported that the project is designed to stimulate cross-border trade and bolster regional integration efforts in the Horn of Africa by providing modern infrastructure that supports the shared economic and developmental goals of the region’s nations.
