Aid reaches Dolow district amidst flood fears

DOLOW — In response to the impending threat of spring rains and potential floods, the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) has proactively dispatched aid to the Dolow district in the Gedo region, Jubbaland state.

The assistance package, comprising tents, utensils, blankets, and other essential materials, has been distributed to hundreds of families in need.

Approximately 300 families residing in four different camps within the Dolow district have received this crucial support.

The beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude towards the President and the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), SoDMA, and the Chinese government for their timely and generous contribution.

This collaborative effort between the Somali authorities and international partners underscores a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable communities from natural disasters.

The preemptive measures taken by SoDMA are a testament to Somalia’s continued efforts in strengthening its disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
