Somali police raided & razed down Hamar boarding school

MOGADISHU — At around 4:00 pm last night, Somali police raided the Hamar Boarding School building located along KM4-Abdikasim road in Mogadishu.

The police took away the chairman of Hamar Boarding Schools Abdirahman Dhagey as bulldozers razed down the school with nearly 3,000 students.

The government-owned building has been in operation for more than 50 years as a school that played a major role in the growth of education in the country during the conflict.

On 16 Feb 2021, the Ministry of Education warned the Benadir Regional Court that the land of the school could not be given to anyone.
