Blast kills at least one person in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU —  At least one person was killed  and another one sustained injuries on Tuesday evening after landmine explosion occurred in Somali capital, Mogadishu.

Sources at the scene said the blast hit a car belonging to Somali police spokesperson, Sadak Adan Dodishe.

Sadak who confirmed the blast said IED planted on the roadside went off just after his car passed the area.

“Thank Almighty God, no one in my car was hurt. Terrorists cannot intimidate us. We pay ultimate  sacrifice to the service of the nation,” he said.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack but it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab attacks.
