Somalia records 39 new COVID-19 cases, 45 more recoveries

MOGADISHU — Somalia has confirmed 39 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said in its daily report on Monday.

Forty-five people have recovered while no death was reported, the ministry statement added.

Fourteen of the new cases are from Banadir region, 12 from Puntland regional state, 8 from the breakaway region of Somaliland, three from Jubbaland regional state, and 2 from South West state.

Twenty-five of the cases are males while 14 are female

The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 2,642 with 622 of them fully recovering while 88 have died of the disease.
