JOWHAR (SOHA) – An 85-year-old was beaten and raped inside the Jilayaale IDP Camp in Jowhar of middle Shabelle Somalia.
The 85-year-old women Madina Ali Kay Osman was later admitted to a hospital in Jowhar town and investigations are still on by the security forces where several people were arrested for the incident.
Most of those living in the camps are women and children from Shabaab-controlled areas who came to the camps in search of food, water and medical care.
Beyond the survival, the shelter is necessary to provide security and ensure personal safety and protection, and to ensure privacy and dignity, especially for women and girls in the camps.”
