MOGADISHU — Two people were killed and another injured when a vehicle carrying a police officer in Mogadishu hit a land mine.
Sources said the private car carrying a police officer in Hilwaa district drove into a land mine suspected to have been planted on the road.
The driver sustained injuries in the incident that happened on mid morning. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
The explosion adds to increasing land mine attacks in the city as the country waits for a long delayed presidential and parliamentary elections.
The police has not commented on the incident.
