MOGADISHU — Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of Somalia, received a high-level delegation from the Arab League today to oversee the launch of a major project aimed at supporting Somalia’s national education curriculum and advancing the Arabic language. The delegation was led by Zayd Al-Sabbaan, Director of the Horn of Africa and Sudan Department at the Arab League.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Barre expressed his profound gratitude for the Arab League’s consistent support across vital sectors, including diplomacy, education, and state-building. He specifically commended the organization’s significant role in facilitating debt relief and contributing to the country’s economic development.
Al-Sabbaan, speaking on behalf of the delegation, praised the Somali government’s progress achieved despite challenging circumstances. He underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between Somalia and the Arab League, particularly in political collaboration, economic development, and broader regional partnership.
