MOGADISHU — Property of unknown value were destroyed after a massive fire broke out at Marwo market in Elasha Biyaha area in Mogadishu.
Sources said the fire spread fast due to explosive that had been planted inside the market and came as traders said they had been receiving persistent threats from the Al-Shabaab group.
This incident occurred just a day after security cameras were installed in the market.
Despite the severity of the fire, there were no efforts made to extinguish it, resulting in substantial losses for many traders.
As of now, the exact extent of the damage has not been officially confirmed.
