SSC-Khatumo urges NGOs to register for transparency in aid efforts

LAS ANOD — The Ministry of Planning, Development, and International Cooperation of the SSC-Khatumo administration has issued a directive calling on unregistered NGOs providing humanitarian aid in the region to register by April 30th, 2024.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Ministry warned that non-registrant entities will be penalized for failing to comply with the registration deadline. These penalties may include fines and suspension of operations.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of effective coordination and oversight to ensure transparent and accountable humanitarian efforts in the region.

It underscored that registration would enable the administration to monitor and evaluate the impact of aid interventions better, facilitating efficient resource allocation.

“We recognize that registering with government authorities may entail certain administrative requirements.”

The Ministry assured NGOs that the aim is to enhance, not hinder, humanitarian aid efforts in SSCKH.
