MOGADISHU — The Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Health and Social Care continued its efforts to strengthen cooperation with health sector partners during a meeting held by the Ministry’s Director General, Yusuf Hassan Isaq, with members of the “Health Plus” partnership, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation and support health development priorities in the country.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Director General welcomed the partnership members, commending their role in supporting national health programs, and stressing that strengthening coordination and unifying efforts among various stakeholders are essential pillars for improving healthcare services and enhancing the quality of care provided to citizens.
Ministry officials listened to a presentation delivered by the delegation of the partnership, led by Dr. Robert Nyanga, which covered the key activities and programs implemented by the partnership in Somalia, as well as its future plans aimed at supporting the development of the health sector and strengthening its institutional and technical capacities.
The Director General reaffirmed that the Ministry of Health is committed to consolidating its partnership approach with national and international institutions supporting the health sector, noting the importance of aligning all health programs and interventions with the National Transformation Plan, the Essential Package of Health Services, and the approved government strategies.
He also stressed the need to strengthen integration between the Ministry’s efforts and its partners to ensure optimal use of available resources and achieve the greatest possible impact of health programs, contributing to improved health indicators and expanded service delivery across the country.
