EU pledges 27 million Euros to help Somalia combat COVID-19

MOGADISHU — The EU mission in Somalia said the bloc has pledged 27 million Euros to help Somalia combat COVID-19 in the Horn of Africa country.

“Together against COVID-19, the European commissioner for the international partnership Jutta Urpilainen has a phone conversation with Farmajo to express EU solidarity and support,” said EU envoy for Somalia, Nicolas Berland.

He added a package of 27 million Euros for Somalia against Coronavirus is ready to confront the crisis in the country.

Somalia has recorded 21 COVID-19 cases, including one death and one recovery.
