{"id":9694,"date":"2022-02-06T21:02:37","date_gmt":"2022-02-06T21:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/?p=9694"},"modified":"2022-02-07T10:06:56","modified_gmt":"2022-02-07T10:06:56","slug":"uk-donates-more-funds-to-combat-somalias-drought","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/2022\/02\/06\/uk-donates-more-funds-to-combat-somalias-drought\/","title":{"rendered":"UK donates more funds to combat Somalia\u2019s drought"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MOGADISHU &#8212;<\/strong> Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, received in his office the UK Special Representative for Famine and Humanitarian Affairs, Nick Dyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PM Roble spoke with Nick Dyer and his entourage about the drought situation in the country and how to provide relief to the Somali people affected by the drought.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The UK\u2019s Special Envoy for Famine and Humanitarian Affairs Nick Dye says they are ready to help with the drought situation in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe lives of people in Somalia are on the line. We know from 2017 when we and partners acted early, lives were saved. We can and must provide the assistance that the most vulnerable need and save lives.\u201d said Nick Dyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A UK released statement added \u201cWhile in Somalia, Mr. Dyer announced an additional $8 million (\u00a35.5 million) package of UK support to deal with the effects of the drought.
