{"id":6369,"date":"2020-09-20T22:56:42","date_gmt":"2020-09-20T22:56:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/?p=6369"},"modified":"2020-10-08T09:17:18","modified_gmt":"2020-10-08T09:17:18","slug":"five-year-old-child-is-raped-in-mogadishu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sooha.org\/en\/2020\/09\/20\/five-year-old-child-is-raped-in-mogadishu\/","title":{"rendered":"Five-year-old child is raped in Mogadishu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>MOGADISHU &#8212;<\/strong> A small girl is being treated at a hospital in Mogadishu after she was brutally raped in Kaaraan district on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the family, she was rushed to the hospital and a medical examination revealed that she was raped.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The five-year-old was allegedly raped by a neighbor in Kaaraan district who is on the run.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The girl\u2019s father, Yusuf Mohamed asked the federal government of Somalia to bring justice to the books.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201dHe grabbed my child and took her to his house which is the next door, the girl shouted and was overheard catching the attention of her mother,\u201d said Mohamed Hassan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rapes and sexual violence have been in the spotlight in Somalia since the past years when a 12-year-old Aisha Ilyas Aden was gang-raped strangled to death at a town in northern Galkayo on February 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The incident comes a week after the case of 19-year-old teenager Hamdi Ahmed Mohamed was gang-raped and thrown from a six-story building in Mogadishu\u2019s Waberi district.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Police said they have arrested 12 suspects in connection with the murder and gang-rape of the 19 years old Hamdi Ahmed Mohamed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But despite the increased scrutiny of sexual crimes, their numbers continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Early this year two young sisters aged 4 and 5 years were hospitalized after they raped in a field in Afgoye which is 30 kilometers west of the capital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And in July this year, an 11-year-old girl was found raped and murdered and her body disposed at a thicket 15 days after she was reported missing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Source: Radio Dalsan\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Origin: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radiodalsan.com\/en\/2020\/09\/20\/5-year-old-child-raped-in-mogadishu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener sponsored ugc noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">View original<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MOGADISHU &#8212; A small girl is being treated at a hospital in Mogadishu after she was brutally raped in Kaaraan district on Saturday evening.
