MOGADISHU —<\/b>\u00a0The Ministry of Education Sunday airlifted 18 secondary school students from Barawe to Mogadishu to sit for their final exams.<\/p>\n

The Ministry moved in to airlift the students after they failed to sit for the first paper Saturday as they could not access the exam center.<\/p>\n

Students in the region were expected to converge in Marka town where there is a designated exams center.<\/p>\n

In responding to their plight, the Ministry said it had made arrangements for the students to complete their exams in the capital Mogadishu and ensure they sit for the missed papers.<\/p>\n

Form four exams kicked off Saturday and will be done in all Federal Member States save for Puntland which does not ascribe to the standardized exams.<\/p>\n

Over 30,000 students are expected to sit for the exams up from less than 10,000 when the first national exam started in 2015.<\/p>\n

Class eight candidates completed their exams this past week.<\/p>\n
