MOGADISHU — <\/strong>More than a third of patients who contracted the global pandemic virus known Coronavirus in Somalia have recovered, the country\u2019s health ministry confirmed.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Fawziya Abikar, the health minister said the country has recorded a total recovery of 1,264, making the total recoveries more than a third of the cases recorded since last March.<\/p>\n

The minister confirmed 13 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total tally of infections to 3,051.<\/p>\n

According to the ministry, the majority of the latest cases were recorded in Somaliland which has 7, Jubbaland 4, Benadir, and Galmudug two each.<\/p>\n

Abikar said no patient succumbed to the respiratory disease as the death toll still stands 92 since the first infection.<\/p>\n

She said 55 people recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of people who have been discharged from hospitals to 1,264.<\/p>\n

Somalia has last week announced the resumption of local flight following months of suspension on domestic and international flights.<\/p>\n

The country also started National exams for primary schools in different parts of the country.<\/p>\n
