GALKAYO —<\/strong> Somalia\u2019s Puntland state president Said Abdullahi Deni on Saturday paid a visit to Omar Samatar school in Galkayo where more than 16000 students are sitting for their final secondary school exams despite COVID-19.<\/div>\n

The state leader said that safety measures have been put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at schools during exams.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a press release from Somalia\u2019s ministry of education confirmed primary schools will sit for their national exams on the 11th of this month while secondary schools will start on 18th July.<\/p>\n

All public schools are set to reopen on the 15th of August while universities and colleges will reopen on the 5th of September after they were closed in Mid-March to help contain the spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
