HUDUR <\/b>– South West State will reopen schools next month, the state President Abdiaziz Lafta Gareen has said amid an increasing number of COVID19 cases.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Hudur town Thursday, Lafta Gareen said plans were underway to reopen the schools which closed April following an order from the Federal Government.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ministry of education together with education stakeholders are working plan to cope up with the challenges. Schools are expected to reopen next month,” the Southwest leader said.<\/p>\n

South West state has since recorded 135 cases with eight more cases noted in the last 24 hours according to the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

It was not immediately clear if the decision by South West to reopen the schools conforms with plans with the Federal Government.<\/p>\n

There is no word yet from the Federal Government when schools will reopen.<\/p>\n

Puntland has also announced it is planning to reopen Quranic schools soon but has not indicated timelines.<\/p>\n
