The workshop was attended by both private and public media personnel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ninth national development plan was officially launched on December the 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a02018 by His Excellency the Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre and the Minster of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, His Excellency Ambassador Gamal Hassan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Going back since 1962, Somalia has had eight national development plans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seven NDP\u2019s were implemented before 1990. The current national development plan (NDP8) is in itsfinal year of implementation and thus the Federal Government of Somalia has begun drafting the 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0NDP which is meant to be implemented as off January 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">NDP9will fulfill Interim Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (iPRSP) conditionality, which will ensure that Somalia meets one of its most vital structural benchmarks for the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0staff monitored program (SMP) administered by the IMF.
