ADEN \u2013 <\/strong>A total of 154 Somali refugees returned from Yemen to their home country through Aden International Airport in a voluntary return operation carried out by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as part of a protection and humanitarian assistance project aimed at supporting refugees and affected people. The operation comes within efforts to assist refugees who wish to return to their countries and provide the necessary facilities to complete the return process in an organized and safe manner.<\/p>\n

The operation included arrangements and facilities related to the refugees\u2019 return, coordinated between the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre and UNHCR, helping to complete the procedures related to voluntary return through Aden International Airport. The step reflects the importance of coordination among humanitarian actors in responding to refugees\u2019 needs, particularly those who choose to return to their countries after a period of displacement and refuge.<\/p>\n

The UNHCR Representative in Yemen, Armin Yedgarian, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre for its efforts to facilitate and ensure voluntary return procedures, stressing the importance of humanitarian partnership in supporting refugees and helping them move toward return in a manner that safeguards their safety and dignity. The appreciation comes within the framework of cooperation between the Centre and UNHCR in implementing humanitarian programmes targeting affected groups and refugees.<\/p>\n

The return of the Somali refugees is part of a series of relief and humanitarian projects and programmes implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in Yemen, as part of the support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to affected communities and the most vulnerable groups. The operation also reflects continued humanitarian efforts to support refugees and facilitate their access to necessary assistance, in cooperation with international organizations and relevant actors, thereby strengthening the response to changing humanitarian needs.<\/p>\n
