HARGEISA — <\/strong>The Ministry of Resettlement and Humanitarian Affairs of Somaliland distributed comprehensive food assistance yesterday, Thursday to 400 families living in the Naasa Hablood A displaced persons camp in Hargeisa, as part of efforts to support vulnerable groups and improve the living conditions of communities affected by displacement.<\/p>\n

The aid distribution followed the recent relocation of the camp residents to a new site established on land they own. The ministry stated that the initiative is part of its humanitarian support programs targeting displaced and vulnerable families, based on field assessments conducted to understand their living conditions and basic needs.<\/p>\n

The ministry explained that the distributed food supplies are part of the government budget allocated for the care and support of displaced communities and low-income families. It emphasized that the assistance falls within its responsibilities to provide necessary support to people facing difficult economic and social circumstances.<\/p>\n

Ministry officials said the distribution reflects the government\u2019s commitment to standing with displaced communities and continuing efforts to deliver basic services and humanitarian assistance to vulnerable groups, helping reduce their hardships and strengthen their ability to cope with challenging living conditions.<\/p>\n

The initiative comes as Somaliland continues implementing programs related to resettlement and humanitarian support, with the aim of improving the conditions of displaced people and creating a more stable environment through cooperation between government institutions, local communities, and humanitarian actors.<\/p>\n

Different parts of Somalia continue to face internal displacement challenges driven by security, climate, and economic factors, making support for displaced populations and access to basic services a humanitarian priority.
