MOGADISHU —<\/strong> Abdiwali Ali Abdullahi, Director General of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) of the Federal Republic of Somalia, held an official meeting with the leadership of the Private Hospitals Association in Somalia to discuss prospects for joint cooperation to provide national ID and registration services through private health facilities across the country.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to leverage the wide geographical distribution of private hospitals, enabling citizens to obtain identification documents and update their personal data with ease through nearby outlets, while enhancing the efficiency of the administrative framework and streamlining relevant government procedures.<\/p>\n

The Director General of the Authority emphasized that expanding the scope of digital registration channels constitutes a fundamental pillar in the national strategy for the coming phase, noting that partnering with the private health sector will help reach various segments of society and build a comprehensive national database characterized by accuracy, security, and high reliability.<\/p>\n

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi Issa, Chairman of the Private Hospitals Association in Somalia, expressed the association’s welcome and the readiness of member health institutions to provide the necessary technical and logistical support to accelerate the integration of civil registration outlets within medical facilities, facilitating access for citizens and developing mutual services.<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with an agreement to bolster joint technical and institutional coordination and to establish executive operational mechanisms that ensure faster systems linking and service integration between the Authority and hospitals, achieving positive yields in improving government services and enhancing the efficiency of healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the national ID system represents the cornerstone of modernizing administrative structures and developing public service governance in Somalia, enabling citizens to access government, banking, and social transactions securely and efficiently. This step reflects an advanced model of public-private partnership (PPP) within the framework of digital transformation efforts.
