ADADO<\/strong> \u2014 Qatar Charity has officially inaugurated a new specialized health center for maternal and child care in Adado district, located in the Galmudug State of the Federal Republic of Somalia, as part of its ongoing humanitarian and developmental efforts to support the local healthcare sector in coordination with the State\u2019s Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe Somali National News Agency (SONNA) reported that the launching ceremony was attended by His Excellency Tahir Farah Fidu, Minister of State for Health in Galmudug State; Dr. Abdiweli Mohamed Ahmed, Director General of the Ministry; Mr. Farah Diriye Warsame, Adado District Commissioner; and Mr. Abdel Fattah Adam Moallim, Director of Qatar Charity\u2019s office in Somalia.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe Director of Qatar Charity’s office in Somalia emphasized during his speech the association’s firm commitment to bolstering the Somali healthcare system and expanding critical interventions in underserved regions, pointing out that the center primarily aims to substantially reduce health risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth.<\/p>\n

On his part, the Minister of State for Health of Galmudug state affirmed that enhancing medical infrastructure for maternal and child welfare represents a top strategic priority within the state\u2019s executive plans, expressing his profound gratitude to the State of Qatar, Qatar Charity, and philanthropic donors for their generous funding of this sustainable project.<\/p>\n

In a similar context, the Director General of the Ministry of Health of Galmudug stated that this new medical facility will effectively bridge critical healthcare gaps in the district, elevate the standard of diagnostic and therapeutic services provided to the population, and ensure vulnerable groups have unhindered access to comprehensive medical care.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the project, the Adado District Commissioner highlighted that the operationalization of this vital facility will significantly alleviate travel burdens and logistical hardships for residents in the city and neighboring villages, praising the institutional integration between government bodies and international humanitarian partners.<\/p>\n

The integrated medical center is projected to serve approximately 20,000 beneficiaries annually, while officials announced that the international organization “Save the Children” will assume direct operational and administrative responsibilities for the center to guarantee continuous, standardized service delivery matching global benchmarks.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that Qatar Charity significantly accelerated its humanitarian footprint in Somalia over the past year by executing 24 specialized healthcare and developmental projects at a total cost exceeding 9 million Qatari Riyals, directly benefiting more than 143,000 individuals across various Somali regional states.<\/p>\n

The inauguration of this healthcare center in Adado demonstrates a highly advanced model of smart humanitarian partnerships that transcend traditional short-term relief toward sustainable infrastructure development in the Horn of Africa.
