\u200bMOGADISHU \u2014 <\/strong>\u200b\u200bThe Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), in strategic partnership with Qatar Charity, has launched the annual Eid Al-Adha 1447H Qurbani project, a deeply compassionate humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable groups nationwide.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe humanitarian project was officially inaugurated in the capital, Mogadishu, where the Assistant to the SoDMA Chairman for Arab and Islamic Affairs, Mr. Abdulrahman Mohamed Hussein, opened the event on behalf of the SoDMA Commissioner, alongside representatives from the Banadir regional administration and the Qatar Charity office in Somalia.<\/p>\n

According to a press update published on SoDMA\u2019s official Facebook page, this ambitious seasonal initiative is designed to alleviate severe living pressures, directly benefiting an estimated 87,600 individuals among displaced families and disadvantaged households across the country.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe update shared via SoDMA\u2019s official Facebook page further stated that the initiative aligns with comprehensive government frameworks intended to strengthen seasonal humanitarian responses during blessed religious occasions, ensuring dignified food aid delivery to underserved populations.<\/p>\n

SoDMA called upon all humanitarian partners, particularly Qatar Charity, to govern field distribution mechanisms and execute them in accordance with high standards of transparency, integrity, and equity, thereby guaranteeing that relief reaches targeted beneficiaries across Federal Member States and Banadir.<\/p>\n

For his part, Mr. Abdulfatah Adam Moalim, Director of Qatar Charity’s office in Somalia, reaffirmed the organization\u2019s steadfast commitment to implementing the project under global relief standards, emphasizing mutual keenness to ensure fair delivery to the most vulnerable families while upholding strict operational accountability and transparency.<\/p>\n

He further noted that this project reflects the deep-rooted partnership and ongoing bilateral cooperation between Qatar Charity and Somali authorities, highlighting the organization’s forward-looking plans to expand comprehensive humanitarian and development interventions throughout the country in the coming phase.<\/p>\n
