MOGADISHU — <\/strong>Somalia today Tuesday marked the 58th anniversary of Madina Hospital in the capital Mogadishu, in a national occasion that reflected appreciation for the hospital\u2019s continued role in serving citizens and strengthening healthcare delivery over decades of challenges and national transformations.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by government officials, members of the Federal Parliament, health sector leaders, security officials, and representatives of civil society organizations, underscoring the hospital\u2019s position as one of Somalia\u2019s most prominent national healthcare institutions.<\/p>\n

The occasion highlighted the hospital\u2019s long-standing journey and the medical and humanitarian services it has provided to thousands of patients from across the country, as well as its role in supporting emergency response efforts during humanitarian crises and emergencies faced by Somali society over past decades.<\/p>\n

Participants reviewed the hospital\u2019s development since its establishment, including expansions in infrastructure, medical facilities, and specialized services, alongside future-oriented visions aimed at strengthening its capacity and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.<\/p>\n

The ceremony also included a recognition segment honoring doctors, nurses, administrators, and technical staff who have contributed to the hospital\u2019s work, in appreciation of their professionalism, dedication, and commitment to patient care and alleviating suffering.<\/p>\n

In her remarks during the occasion, the State Minister for Health and Social Care of the Federal Government of Somalia stated that Madina Hospital represents one of the key pillars of the national health sector, praising the humanitarian and professional role played by its staff in serving the community.<\/p>\n

She noted that the development of national health institutions and the strengthening of their human and technical capacities form part of the government\u2019s efforts to build a more efficient and sustainable health system capable of meeting the growing needs of citizens across the country.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Health and Social Care reaffirmed its commitment to continuing support for national hospitals, enhancing their services, and expanding access to healthcare, in order to improve health indicators and promote the well-being of Somali society.<\/p>\n

Madina Hospital is one of Somalia\u2019s oldest and most important healthcare institutions, having served as a central hub for medical and specialized care for 58 years.
