\u200bAs reported by Xinhua News Agency citing the UNHCR, the escalation of political tensions and confrontations between the federal government and Southwest State authorities has significantly increased insecurity in Baidoa city, which serves as a vital hub for peacekeepers and international aid agencies, negatively impacting the safety of residents and facilities.<\/p>\n

In its latest field update published by Xinhua News Agency, the UNHCR explained that although large-scale armed clashes did not occur, the anticipation and fear of imminent fighting following the withdrawal of state forces and the federal takeover triggered preemptive mass displacements of families seeking safe havens.<\/p>\n
