MOGADISHU —<\/strong> As part of her ongoing efforts to develop the educational sector and alleviate the burden on families, the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA) announced the allocation of annual financial support to strengthen free education in the capital, Mogadishu. This step aims to empower public educational institutions to fulfill their academic mission and expand learning opportunities for the rising generations in Somalia, ensuring a promising future built on science and knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe Banadir Regional Administration (BRA) announced an annual financial support package of $288,000 for government-run schools in Mogadishu, aimed at enhancing the quality of free education services and developing their operational environment, as reported by Dawan Africa.<\/p>\n

H.E. Hassan Mohamed Hussein Mungab, Governor of Banadir and Mayor of Mogadishu, revealed the signing of this funding allocation, intended to cover schools’ administrative and operational expenses while the federal government continues to pay teachers\u2019 salaries regularly across the country.<\/p>\n

Mungab stated in remarks carried by Dawan Africa that the administration approved this funding to ensure the continued operation of 48 public schools providing free education to thousands of children, reflecting the local authorities’ commitment to providing a sustainable educational environment.<\/p>\n

The Mayor emphasized that education is a top priority on the Banadir administration’s agenda, stressing that improving access to schooling is a fundamental pillar for building an educated society that contributes to Somalia\u2019s scientific, cultural, and social progress in the coming stage.<\/p>\n

\u200bThis initiative aims to enable children living in the capital to exercise their inherent right to education without imposing additional financial burdens on parents, directly contributing to increasing school enrollment rates and reducing illiteracy in the regions.<\/p>\n

During his visit to the Directorate of Education, the Governor praised efforts to improve public services, particularly streamlining the process for obtaining certificates, which are now issued within hours, representing a qualitative leap in administrative and service performance in Somalia.<\/p>\n

Mungab urged parents in the capital to take full advantage of these available educational opportunities and ensure their children attend school regularly to equip them with knowledge and contribute effectively to building state institutions and enhancing security.<\/p>\n

The Governor also discussed with education officials ways to develop curricula and modernize educational tools, affirming that investing in public school infrastructure is an integral part of the comprehensive development plan adopted to advance all service sectors.<\/p>\n
