\u200bMOGADISHU —<\/strong> H.E. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein, Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, presided over a ceremony to hand over batches of advanced medical equipment to 16 health centers across the capital\u2019s districts, as part of a comprehensive plan to develop the health system and enhance the quality of medical services for citizens.<\/p>\n

The Somali National News Agency reported that the Governor emphasized during the ceremony the strategic importance of this new equipment in raising healthcare efficiency, particularly in vital departments concerning maternal and child health and vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n

H.E. Dr. Hassan Mohamed noted that the Banadir Regional Administration places the health sector at the forefront of its priorities, highlighting the administration’s commitment to strengthening technical and logistical support for medical facilities to ensure access to essential services for all residents.<\/p>\n

The Mayor, as cited by the Somali National News Agency, called on district administrations and health center heads to ensure the equipment is maintained and used efficiently, so it may deliver tangible benefits to the communities and improve the quality of life for patients.<\/p>\n

\u200bThis initiative aims to bridge gaps in medical services and reduce pressure on major hospitals by activating the role of primary care centers in residential neighborhoods and equipping them with the necessary technologies for various cases.<\/p>\n

The Governor further pointed out that improving the health sector is an integral part of Mogadishu\u2019s urban development journey, emphasizing that investing in human health is the fundamental pillar for building a healthy and productive society.<\/p>\n

The distributed equipment includes diagnostic devices and emergency care tools, carefully selected to meet the urgent requirements of health centers in the 16 targeted districts during this phase of technical and logistical support.<\/p>\n

This step is part of a series of ongoing development projects implemented by the Mogadishu Municipality to bolster infrastructure and expand universal health coverage to include all urban and rural areas within the region.<\/p>\n

The ceremony concluded with a reaffirmation of continued efforts to empower and modernize the health sector, amid widespread appreciation from medical staff and citizens who valued the regional administration’s role in addressing their needs.<\/p>\n

Equipping 16 health centers in Mogadishu with advanced tools marks a qualitative shift toward “decentralized treatment,” a strategic trend that helps reduce mortality rates caused by delayed medical intervention in emergencies.
