MOGADISHU (SOHA) \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0The Permanent Secretary (PS) for Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MoHADM) mohamed omar moalim (Wayaki) has resigned causing yet another dent in one of the crucial government ministries as he takes the cue from his former boss Dr. Maryan Qasim who\u00a0bolted out\u00a0last November.<\/p>\n

In a tweet Thursday, Moalim said he had quit his post \u2018due to several reasons\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have resigned from my position as PS of\u00a0@MoHADM_Somalia\u00a0due to several reasons including work based differences with ministry leadership, illegal arrest of director of the ministry without due process and that fact that I refuse my reputation and integrity questioned by anyone,\u201d Moalim said.<\/p>\n

Director of Resettlement in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Dahir Mohamed Nur was late July arrested by CID detectives on allegations of corruption in the ministry. No charges have yet been preferred against the official.<\/p>\n

Dr. Qasim, a former close ally of President Mohamed Farmaajo left her post November 15 barely seven months into office citing \u2018confusion and disorder\u2019 in government.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am good at working in a professional way in a department or ministry but one gets confused when the work is done in a wild manner,\u201d said Qasim.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am not opposed to the government but this disorderly working proved hard for me. I have decided to go back for a private job and stay clear from politics.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Qasim\u2019s exit last year raised concerns among humanitarian agencies in the country and the resignation of the PS today is likely to raise more questions than answers on the goings on in one of the crucial ministries in government.<\/p>\n

The Humanitarian Affairs docket oversees humanitarian aid in the country which runs into millions of dollars annually.<\/p>\n
