Attendees included the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Jibril Abdirashid Haji, and ministers of planning, education, and the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) Mr Mohamud Moallim Abdulle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Shabelle Media Network, the partnership aims to harness Somalia\u2019s expanding digital infrastructure to uplift lives, especially for children affected by conflict, poverty, and lack of access to essential services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Key Areas of the Agreement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Promoting digital inclusion by providing affordable technology and improving digital literacy among families in underserved communities.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Strengthening emergency response systems using Hormuud\u2019s telecom infrastructure to support crisis communication and humanitarian assistance.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Expanding access to education and healthcare through distance learning platforms, mobile health messaging, and digital cash transfers.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Empowering Somali youth through digital entrepreneurship, vocational training, and job creation initiatives supported by the Hormuud Salaam Foundation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Impact Figures from the Partnership:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Despite low internet penetration in Somalia, over 11 million mobile subscribers are connected through networks like Hormuud, signaling huge potential to bridge the digital divide.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 3 million Somali children are currently out of school due to displacement and poverty. This partnership will help pilot mobile-based learning programs in remote regions.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Save the Children\u2019s cash transfer programs, which have supported thousands of families, will now be expanded and digitized through Hormuud\u2019s EVC Plus platform.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hormuud\u2019s SMS alert system will be used to support early warning campaigns and deliver vital child protection messages.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Hormuud Salaam Foundation has trained over 5,000 Somali youth in the past three years. With this new partnership, the goal is to double that number by 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to Shabelle Media Network, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Yusuf, Chairman of Hormuud Telecom, stated:\u201cToday is a historic moment that reflects our joint commitment to the well-being of Somali children. This partnership strengthens both development and humanitarian efforts nationwide. We believe collaboration will drive lasting change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Mohamud Mohamed Hassan, Save the Children\u2019s Country Director in Somalia, added:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis partnership is a leap forward in using technology to serve children.
