HARAGEISA —<\/strong> The Vice President of Somaliland, Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, officially launched the National Child Immunization Campaign today, marking a significant step in the country\u2019s efforts to protect children from preventable diseases such as pneumonia, measles, and polio.<\/p>\n

The high-profile ceremony was held in the State House district of Hargeisa and attended by senior Ministry of Health officials, healthcare professionals, and representatives from key institutions. The event underscored the government\u2019s unwavering commitment to advancing maternal and child health and expanding access to essential health services.<\/p>\n

In their remarks, the Minister of Health Development and the Director General of the Ministry highlighted the campaign\u2019s critical role in reducing child mortality and fostering a healthier future for Somaliland.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi emphasized the transformative power of immunization, calling it a cornerstone of public health:<\/p>\n

\u201cImmunization remains one of the most transformative and cost-effective public health interventions of our time. By protecting children from preventable diseases, we are laying the foundation for a healthier, more resilient nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Vice President affirmed that the program would be expanded and sustained nationwide, with oversight and support from the highest levels of government:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe President and I are resolutely committed to ensuring the success of this campaign. We will continue to work in close coordination with the Ministry of Health to guarantee that these essential vaccines are accessible to every child, in every district, without exception.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded by reiterating the government\u2019s dedication to the wellbeing of mothers and children, affirming their central place in Somaliland\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe health and wellbeing of our mothers and children stand at the core of our national development agenda. As a Government, we remain steadfast in our duty to uphold their rights, protect their dignity, and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all.\u201d<\/p>\n
