GAROWE —<\/strong> Puntland authorities have denied allegations by Somalia Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) that it delivered 200 tons of food aid to Bosaso, a key port city in the semi-autonomous region.<\/p>\n

In a firm rebuttal, Puntland\u2019s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Ubah Abdirashid Hirsi, stated that the federal government had not provided any food assistance to the region. \u201cNo aid has been received from the Federal Government of Somalia,\u201d she said, stressing that Puntland has managed all international aid independently without federal involvement.<\/p>\n

Ubah called on SoDMA to provide evidence to substantiate its claim, adding that Puntland remains committed to transparent and accountable aid distribution. \u201cWe ensure that any assistance provided reaches those in need through responsible and efficient management,\u201d she asserted.<\/p>\n

SoDMA, in a statement issued Wednesday, claimed it had delivered 200 tons of food aid to Bosaso to support vulnerable communities. The announcement was part of the agency\u2019s broader effort to address widespread humanitarian needs nationwide, exacerbated by ongoing drought and displacement.<\/p>\n
